Antonio Mancini (1852-1930) was an Italian painter trained in Naples. He is best known for his portraits of children and ordinary people, painted in thick paint with vigorous touches. The Dutch painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag, his patron, brought several of his canvases together in the collection that bears his name in The Hague.
