Anonymous Balinese narrative drawings from the late 19th century, in the public domain, held by Leiden University Libraries (Van der Tuuk collection, shelfmark Or. 3390), each linked to its record in the library's digital collections. They were gathered in Bali by the Dutch linguist Herman Neubronner van der Tuuk (1824-1894). The library does not know the names of their makers: it attributes them to numbered anonymous artists ("Artist no. 1" to "no. 14") following the catalogue by H. I. R. Hinzler (1986). Only finished, coloured sheets by these anonymous artists are included; sheets attributed to named painters, drawings in ink alone and scenes unsuitable for a young audience are not shown. The photographs are the library's own, published in the public domain. The titles are those of the library, with their translation.
