Works by Félix Philippoteaux (Henri Félix Emmanuel Philippoteaux, 1815-1884), in the public domain, each linked to its record in the museum that holds it. A pupil of Léon Cogniet, he painted for the historical museum at Versailles, created by Louis-Philippe, the battles of the Revolution, of the Empire and of the conquest of Algeria, and late in life panoramas with his son Paul, the author of the Gettysburg Cyclorama, whose works are not shown here. Only works that the museums give to him without reservation (the Battle of Mount Tabor was painted and signed together with Léon Cogniet), and of which a freely reusable photograph exists, are included: those of Paris Musées, which places its images in the public domain, or another free photograph, whose origin is given on the page of the work. For the paintings at the Palace of Versailles, whose website gives no lasting address for each work, the link leads to their record in the national database of the collections of the museums of France. The titles are those of the museums, with their translation.
