Works by Georg Flegel (1566-1638), in the public domain, each linked to its record in the museum that holds it. Born in Olomouc, Moravia, trained with Lucas van Valckenborch and settled in Frankfurt am Main, he is regarded as the first great specialist of still life in Germany: tables set with meticulous care, where bread, wine, sweetmeats, fish, flowers and a few insects also recall the fragility of worldly goods. Only works that the museums give to Flegel without reservation (no workshop, circle, follower or joint work) and of which a freely reusable photograph exists are included: those of museums that place their images in the public domain (Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, New York, Berlin) or, for the works in Munich, Aschaffenburg, Vienna and the Louvre, a public-domain photograph from Wikimedia Commons, whose origin is given on the page of the work. The titles are those of the museums, with their translation.
