Works by Herminie Waternau (1853-1913), in the public domain, all held by the Musée Carnavalet, Histoire de Paris. They belong to the series of « Views of Paris »: more than a hundred watercolours and gouaches, acquired by the museum around 1907, showing courtyards, staircases, convents, hospitals and streets of old Paris, often shortly before their demolition. Born in Tlemcen and a pupil of Delphine de Cool, she exhibited at the Salon from 1878; she withdrew to Athis-Mons around 1903. Only finished, coloured sheets are included here. The photographs are those that Paris Musées releases for free reuse (CC0), taken from Wikimedia Commons; the images are cropped to the sheet. Titles and dates are the museum's.
