Jean-Jacques Henner (1829-1905) was a French painter, born in Bernwiller (Alsace) and died in Paris. Winner of the Prix de Rome in 1858, he is known for his nude nymphs and bathers, his portraits and his faces of red-haired women standing out against a dark ground. His Paris studio has become the Jean-Jacques Henner National Museum.
