Martín Rico y Ortega (1833-1908) was a Spanish landscape painter, born in Madrid and died in Venice. Influenced by the Barbizon school during his stays in France, he painted luminous and meticulous landscapes of the banks of the Seine, of Spain and, above all late in life, of Venice. He was one of the most esteemed Spanish landscape painters of his time.
