Works by Paul Nash (1889-1946), in the public domain in France since 2017: the drawings, watercolours, lithographs and canvases he brought back from the Ypres Salient in 1917-1918 as an official war artist (including The Menin Road, painted for the Hall of Remembrance, and views of the battle of Passchendaele), the large canvases of the Second World War (Totes Meer, Battle of Britain, Battle of Germany), and his landscapes, still lifes and wood engravings of the inter-war years, held by the Imperial War Museum, Tate, the Yale Center for British Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art and Auckland Art Gallery, each linked to the museum's website. Only finished works are included, without sketches or studies. Several works show the dead of the war. When the museum does not release its photographs, the image comes from Wikimedia Commons (a faithful reproduction of a flat work in the public domain: expired British Crown copyright for works commissioned by the State). The titles are those of the museums, with their translation.
