Works by Sébastien Bourdon (1616-1671), in the public domain in France and across the European Union, each linked to its record in the institution that holds it. Born in Montpellier, trained in Paris and then in Rome, he was one of the founders of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in 1648 and painter to Queen Christina of Sweden in Stockholm. Only works that the institutions attribute to him without reservation and for which a free photograph of at least 900 pixels on the short side exists are shown. The photographs are faithful reproductions of flat works (public-domain files from Wikimedia Commons; CC0 for those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art). Titles are those of the institutions, with their translation.
