Works by Yasui Sōtarō (1888-1955), in the public domain in France since 1 January 2026, published online by the museums that hold them, each linked to its museum record. After seven years of study in France, where Cézanne was the strongest influence on him, he returned to Japan in 1914 and took some fifteen years to find the style later called the "Yasui style": clear outlines, bold colours, deep blacks. The site only shows works whose photograph is free of rights: paintings and the charcoal studies of his early years, 1905-1907. Titles are given in Japanese, with an English translation.
