Works by Wilhelm Kuhnert (1865-1926), in the public domain, each linked to its record in the museum that holds it: the Rijksmuseum Twenthe in Enschede, the Netherlands. They are oil paintings, often large (up to 126 by 240 centimetres): a lion at the Ruaha River in Tanzania, giraffes, elephants, antelopes and buffalo of Africa, Bengal tigers and an Asian elephant, European bison in the Białowieża Forest in Poland. They are shown here cropped to the canvas, without the frame photographed with them. Only the paintings that the museum gives to Kuhnert without reservation, and of which a freely reusable photograph exists (public-domain files from Wikimedia Commons), are included; his drawings, prints and book illustrations are not. The titles are those of the museum, in Dutch, with their translation.
